Qld: State crime rate down for six consecutive years

Overall crime in Queensland has fallen for the sixth year in a row.

Police Minister JUDY SPENCE has released the crime figures for July to December 2007.

They show assaults were down by three per cent .. robbery down by 10 .. and extortion down 32.

Unlawful entry .. arson and car theft were also down 12 per cent and fraud dropped 19 per cent.

However it's not all good news .. the minister says sexual offences increased by three per cent.
