Vic; Paul Salmon named Father of the Year for Victoria

Former Hawthorn AFL ruckman PAUL SALMON has been named Father of the Year for Victoria.

The father of three, who ended his football career with 309 AFL games behind him just
a week ago, was presented with the honour in the Melbourne Town Hall today.

In presenting the award, 1999 Victorian Father of the Year Dr JOHN MASTERTON, pointed
out that the inaugural award by the Father's Day Council of Victoria was made in Melbourne's
Olympic year -- 1956.

Mr SALMON, along with wife JO, is raising a daughter LEAH, 13, and twins SIAN and LACHLAN, 10.

His football career has led into sports media work with the official AFL broadcaster,
Channel Seven.

And he's won a role at Colonial Stadium, where he is general manager of the Medallion
Club corporate entertainment facility.
